Johnny F. Clark, age 90, of Grove City, OH and Winter Haven, FL, passed away Sept. 14, 2013 with loving family members at his side.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Katie; parents, John and Lenora Clark; brothers, James, Joe and Don; sister, Nellie Young; and step-son, Joe Gest.
Survived by wife, Nellie Gest-Clark; son, Donald L. (Rebecca) Clark of Kiss., FL; daughter, Marcia (David) Taylor of Logan, OH; step-daughter, Joyce Davis of Logan, OH; step-sons, Danny and Terry Gest; siblings, Mary Raymer of SC, Sam (Carolyn) Clark of New Albany, OH, David (Susie) Clark of KS, and Nancy (Bill) Butsko of Bucyrus, OH; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and other family.
He served in the US Navy Armed Guard from July 1942 to July 1944. John survived 12 hours treading oily water after his ship, The SS Bloody Marsh, was torpedoed and sank in the Atlantic during WWII. Retired in 1983 from Pennsylvania/Conrail Railroad after 38 years of Service. A member of the VFW, Masons, Moose and Elk. He remained an active gardener working outside, loving God's land. Many will miss his kindness and extreme willingness to help anyone who needed it.
Visitation Friday, September 20, 2013 from 12pm until the time of Funeral Service at 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
