Joseph Anthony Bachstetter

Joseph Anthony Bachstetter, 87, passed away June 29, 2025. Survived by wife, Janice (Broucek); sons, Joseph M. (Stefani) and Robert J. (Kim); three grandchildren, Alexis (Jacob), Peyton, and Courtney; brother, Ernest; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by three sisters, Maria (Stefan), Theresa (Gabriel), and Klara (Becker).

Joe served as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps from 1956-1959. He was an electronics technician at Brush Instruments while living in Cleveland. After moving to Columbus, he was in construction and owned his own company for over 30 years.

He enjoyed maintaining their over three acres of property with his chariot, the riding lawnmower; and caring for the house he built in 1970. He loved fishing, the outdoors, and enjoyed working with his hands in the garage; woodworking, building clocks, rocking chairs, and fixing anything that was broken.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 5 to 7pm, Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A service to honor Joe’s life will be held at 10am, Thursday, July 10, 2025; at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Arlington Field of Honor Burial Park.
