Joseph Henderson Mills, 76, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Mt. Carmel East.
He was born July 30, 1939 in Wilmington, N.C.
He served in the United States Army and moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1956.
He attended The Circleville Bible College where he earned his Ministry Lisence for the Church of Christ in Christian Union, and was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union.
He started his own family business , Quality Hearing Aid .Service with (5) locations, testing , fitting and servicing his patients in Columbus, Newark and Gallipolis, Ohio,
He was a loving husband, father , grandfather and great grandfather he was very generous and gave each of his children and grandchildren their first cars at age 16, he helped many seniors that could not afford hearing aids, he was loved by so many and will be sadly missed.
Son of the late John Jasper and Victoria Lee Crocker.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by His brother,Jasper Eugene (Gene) Mills his son, Stephen Joseph Mills and granddaughter, Tessa Yvonne Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Lila Yvonne( Russel)l Mills; daughters, Susan Yvette(Terry) Edmister, Darlene Yvonne Signoracci and Leisa Louise Mills; son, John Allen (Cheryl) Mills; brother, Phillip (Stella) Mills; grandchildren, Chrissy, Joey Edmister ,Erika Mullins , Brad, Sherra, Shaun Bryant, Stevie Mills and Debbi Jones, great grandchildren,:{ Tyler, Brayden, Ryan, Mia, Hunter, Kyliegh} ( Lilly, Hunter, Randee} ( Amber, Abby, Shaun, Cain, Serena, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Jonathan,} { Arianna, Maddi, Ryan}.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Qhio. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
