Joyce Ann Ballengee (Lemaster), age 84, of Galloway, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 7, 1941, in London, Ohio, Joyce was a woman of remarkable strength, resilience, and grace. She carried herself with elegance and pride throughout her life. She faced life’s challenges with determination, dignity, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.
Joyce retired from General Motors after 30 years of dedicated service and was known for her strong work ethic. Above all, her greatest accomplishment was her family. She never missed a birthday, a special occasion, or an opportunity to show her love or offer encouragement. She was admired by many for her character, kindness, and genuine concern for others.
Whether she was traveling, camping, gardening, crafting, shopping, dining, or dancing, Joyce treasured the time she spent creating memories with those she loved. She was known for her strong morals and values and had a wealth of life experiences from which she shared wisdom, laughter, and lessons that will continue to guide generations of her family. Her beloved husband, Roscoe, was the love of her life, and she cherished his memory every day after his passing.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Ballengee; her parents, Orville Lemaster and Barbara Witbeck; and her brothers, Robert Lemaster and John Witbeck.
She is survived by her children, James (Chrystal) Johnson Jr., Bobby (Teresa) Johnson, Michelle (James) McGuire, Angela (Danny) Stultz, Barbara (Sam) Wing, and Teresa Heckard; her grandchildren, James Johnson III, Desiree Smith, Danielle Peterman, Nathan Stultz, Derrick Leaming, Tara Law, Lynette Stultz, Eric Johnson, and Ashley Silverman; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joyce’s life during visitation hours on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
Joyce’s legacy of love, strength, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
