Joyce K Hughes, loving mother and grandmother, lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, September 6, 2014. She was born July 28, 1953, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late John R. Payne and Katherine Vendura Payne of New Boston. Along with her father, Joyce was preceded in death by five brothers; Glenn, Carl, Johnny, Dennis and James Payne and a sister Carol Weatherford.
Joyce is survived by her mother, Katherine Payne, her daughter, Melinda Michelle Thompson (Jeff), two grandchildren, Jacob and Megan, her significant other, Mark, a brother, Charles Payne and five sisters; Juanita Fields, Connie Skaggs, Cheryle Berryman, Shirley George and Cynthia Dingus.
Joyce was a fun, spunky woman who loved life, loved to be on the water, loved to play cards and loved the casino. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
The visitation is from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. The funeral service will follow directly after the showing at 5:00 PM on Friday September 12.
