Joyce Ann Lykans

Joyce Ann Lykans, age 64, passed away peacefully Monday May 14th at 7:03pm, at Mt. Caramel West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born December 22nd, 1953 to Richard and Irene (Quidor) Jewell in Charleston, W.V.

Joyce A. Lykans attended West High School. She married twice first to Pete Wears; and had three beautiful children. After divorce she remarried Ervin J. Lykans on November 5th, 1986 and had one child together, she became a step-mother of three more. Joyce worked for a long time at the V.F.W. Post 11 club in Columbus, Ohio where her Husband was a Quarter Master. They have a lot of memories there with themselves and their children. Joyce also worked and retired from Tigerpoly Manufacture Company in Grove City, Ohio. Joyce enjoyed many things; including having her family over for cookouts, birthday parties, and family outings and random get togethers. Joyce loved cooking, music (Elvis Pressley and Patsy Cline) to name a couple, dancing, watching her fixer upper shows, crime shows, the outdoors, her two fur babies, Duke and Buster, her children and grandchildren. She was loved and adored by many; she played the mother figure with a lot of people that is why she is much loved.

Joyce Ann Lykans was preceded in death by both her parents; Richard and Irene Jewell, her sisters Teri Garvin, Linda Jewell and her brother Jimmy Lee Jewell and her husband; Ervin J. Lykans. Joyce is survived by her children; Katherine Wears, Teresa Wears, John Wears, Donnie Lykans, Jordyn Lykans, Ricky Lykans, Jimmy Lykans and Shelli Dehart. She had many grandchildren; Shanice, Josh, Craig, Ronnie, Hailey, Jayden, Mason, Keirstyn, Ethan, Karley, Aubrey, Jordyn, Cadance, Caleb, Alanna, Aireal, Cierra, John Ross, Dylan, Dalton, Taylor, Anthony, Keeli, and her Great Grandchildren; Colton, Carson and Aubriella. She is also survived by her good friend/brother-in-law Harold (Poncho) Garvin. Joyce played the Mother role to her two nieces Stephanie and Angie Garvin, (Shawn Morrow) when they lost their Mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in care of Joyce's children Kathy, Teresa, John Wears or Donnie Lykans. Visitation will take place Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 11am - 1pm at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 a funeral service will directly follow at 1pm. Interment to follow at Alton Cemetery.
