Joyce (Scarberry) Holbein, 76 of Gahanna, passed away at Mt. Carmel/St. Ann's on March 10, 2016. Born on November 22, 1939 to the late David and Almeda (Koehl) Scarberry in Columbus, OH.
Joyce was a founding member of the High Street Baptist Church, teacher and secretary of High Street Christian Academy.
Joyce showed God's love and compassion for all those she met. Survived by sons David (Sheri) Staten, Ronald F. Jr (Melissa) Holbein, daughters Tammy (Charlie) Griffith, Ronae Himmel, Gina (Mark) Gill, step-children Randy Richter, Frederick S. Holbein III, Nancy Funk, Ronda Massey, Mike Holbein, 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, siblings Larry (Wanda) Scarberry and Becky (Gene) Davisson, daughter-in-law Sandy Staten, many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by husband of 51 years Ronald "Ron" Fredrick Holbein, Sr, son Mark Staten, 3 granddaughters Meghan, Courtney and Ashley.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm.
Funeral service at High Street Baptist Church, 7399 N. High St., Columbus on Tuesday at 11am with Pastor Charles Mainous officiating.
Burial to follow at Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville, OH.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Newcomer Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
