With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judith Anne (Marte) Binegar, who graced this world on May 20, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas and left us peacefully on July 18, 2026, at the Country Club nursing home in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Judy was the beloved daughter of the late Elmer and Tessie Marte of Columbus & Buckeye Lake, Ohio.
Judith "Judy" lived a life full of love and joy, devoted to her family and friends. She shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with her faithful husband, Gary "Sky" Binegar, whom she wed on May 22, 1971. Together, they raised three remarkable children, Marcy (Brad) Carey, Matt, and the late Adam Binegar. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kali (James) Carson, Kelson Carey, and Deacon Binegar, and her great-grandchildren, Tori, James Jr., and Addi Carson, each of whom brought her immeasurable happiness and pride.
Judy was an alumna of South High School in Columbus, Ohio, graduating in 1960. Her professional life was spent as a dedicated business associate at various organizations, where she was admired for her diligence and kindness. Judy's heart, however, was always drawn to her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent nurturing them with love and wisdom.
Known for her warm spirit and nurturing nature, Judy was the epitome of grace and kindness, a true example of the perfect person. Her infectious smile and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She found great joy in life's simple pleasures, particularly in the time spent with her family, who were her greatest treasures.
In addition to her husband, daughter, son, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Judy is also survived by her siblings, Margie Herrel, Dottie Saunders, and Jimmy (Mary Jane) Marte, who will all miss her dearly.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that Judy is in Heaven with her parents, Elmer and Tessie Marte, mother-in-law & father-in-law, Virginia and Harlon Binegar. Judy has also joined her beloved son, Adam Binegar, in Heaven.
Family, friends and others whose lives were touched by Judy are invited to celebrate Judy's life at a service on July 27, 2026, at 11:00am, held at the Newcomer Funeral Home - Northeast Chapel, located at 3047 E. Dublin Granville Road, Columbus. Visitation will be from 9:00am - 11:00am with the burial immediately following the funeral service at Glen Rest Cemetery, Columbus.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported and comforted them during this time. Donations can be made via their website, homelesstohome.com or checks can be mailed to: 1745 Marion Waldo Road, Marion, OH 43302.
Judy's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family, and she will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
