Judy Andlou Conkey

Judith (Judy) Ann (Johnson) Conkey age 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital. She was born on December 23, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to William P. and Harriet (Roper) Johnson. She was the oldest of 7 siblings. Judy was a graduate of St. Mary of the Springs Academy. She went on to earn two bachelor's degrees from Franklin University while being a full time working mother at the International Harvester Depot in administration.

Lewis (Lou) Irvin Conkey age 77, also passed away on Tuesday, March 31,, 2020 at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital, hours after his wife Judy. He was born on June 30, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to Lewis S. and Edith (Hashman) Conkey. He was the only son with 3 sisters. Lou was a graduate of West High School. He worked at White Westinghouse and then went onto St. Mary Magdalene in Columbus, Ohio where everyone affectionately learned to know him as 'The Lou-Man'.

The high school sweethearts did everything together from the time they met in 1961. They married on November 30, 1963 at 11:30am. They had two children, Kelly and David, in addition to many others they came to know and love as their own. The Conkey's spent over 30 years as a family at their home at Lake Erie during the summers and were life long drag racers. Lou set records and won national titles while traveling throughout the United States. The family did everything together, Lou and Judy never missed their granddaughters' school or sporting events. In most recent years, the couple enjoyed tinkering in the garage with an antique tractor and other equipment, tending to their apple trees and garden, enjoyed watching and feeding birds and deer that gathered in their yard, or simply just visiting with their beloved family.

Lou and Judy were preceded in death by their son David Conkey on March 29, 2020.

Lou and Judy are also preceded in death by their parents Lewis S. and Edith (Hashman) Conkey, William P. and Harriet (Roper) Johnson; Judy's brother Mark Johnson; Lou's sisters Joanne Wright, Florence Brown and Sarah Ennis.

Lou and Judy are survived by their devoted daughter Kelly (Donald) Billups; daughter-in-law Karen (Daff) Conkey; loving granddaughters Katie, Megan and Emily Garbrandt; grandson Travell Wright; Judy's 4 sisters and brother, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family, friends, and others whose lives Lou and Judy touched will be invited to a celebration of life at a later date, which will be posted on the families Facebook page.
