James “J.W.” Morgan, 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 1, 2025, while doing what he loved—cycling. He was known for his photography, poetry, and being an avid Dodger fan. His passion was evident in his involvement with the Gideons and Kairos ministries. He retired from Underwriting at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio, having transferred from California, where he lived most of his life.
He is survived by his wife Beth Palmer Morgan, Daughters Stephanie and Tiffany Morgan, and sister Carol Dart, and predeceased by parents Richard and Helen Morgan, brothers Wayne and Gary Morgan, and Sister Willi Burkes. His Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at First Baptist Church Grove City, 3301 Orders Road, Grove City, OH 43123, on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11AM, receiving line to start at 9:30AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests “In Memory” donations to the Gideons International in James “J.W.”’s name.
Moment by Moment
By J.W. Morgan
Moment by moment
The days are fleeting
Death comes suddenly
Without proper greeting
I have lost many
One moment they’re gone
All that is left
Are the memories drawn
So I live each day
As if it were my last
For my days are numbered
The die is cast
What I feel
Is not despair
But the breath of life
With my morning prayer
I live and love
One day at a time
Enjoy each moment
Now that I’m past my prime
And when heaven I reach
I’ll worship in song
My Lord and my God
All eternity long
So live each moment
Day by day
Accept God’s grace
Like a beautiful bouquet
