Karen Ann Barnes

Karen Ann Barnes passed away on March 14th, her 67th birthday, after a long hard fight with Cancer. Karen retired 12/31/2009 after 30 years from the Development Department of OSU where she managed gift processing later focusing on stewardship. Karen was an ardent supporter of the OSU football team, and you had better never call or text her during any football game. Karen and her dog Guido were well known in the agility field for many years, winning many awards.
Karen had a passion for traveling the world and was fortunate to visit China, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Canada, and England. Karen loved to entertain, and was well known for her lavish Christmas Parties and Cookouts. Karen would want to be remembered for enjoying life to the fullest with family and friends.
Karen parents Sylvan and Wanda Bias preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory, are her Step Daughter Christine (Larry) Stutz, and Step Son Phil (Christine) Barnes and their families. Cousins Cheryl (Ernie) Tuller, Linda (Steve) Burns, and their son Scott Burns. Karen made friends for a lifetime, those include Leigh Casey, Deb Crowley, Denise O'Conner, Lori Robb, Patti Robinson, Dianne Town, Laura Wright, and Ann Zebert.

The showing will be held at Newcomers Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, Columbus OH on Friday March 17th 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, following with a prayer service at 12:30 PM officiated by Stephen Hielkema, of Bella Hospice. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg OH.
