Kathryn L. Rowland, 89, passed away Thursday, September 27 after a brief illness.
Born in 1929, Kathryn grew up on the Hilltop of Columbus, Ohio and graduated from West High School in 1947. She retired from Lazarus after 25 years and resided in Columbus throughout her life. She was member of the Worthington Order of the Eastern Star for 65 years.
Kathryn was a kind, humble, and independent woman born during the Great Depression. Kathryn loved to work in her garden, play bunco with her bunco babes, attend her grandchildren's events, and watch Judge Judy and The Young and the Restless. She was steadfast and loving in her commitment to her family and friends, and they will always remember her in this way.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Freda Bauder; her sister, Winifred Stackpole; her first husband, Franklin "Del" Snyder; her son, John "Corkie" Snyder; and her second husband, Herbert "Swede" Rowland.
She is survived by her loving daughter and caretaker, Jackie Mitton, and son-in-law Jeff Mitton. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mary (Daniel) Mitton-Sanchez; Thomas (Hali) Mitton; and great grandson, Elliot Mitton, all of whom brought her tremendous joy. She is survived by her sister, Susan Fausnaugh, and a host of family and friends who meant the world to her. They will miss her immensely. Kathryn also leaves behind her beloved dog, Molly, who she loved to spoil with treats and pats on the head.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank all of the wonderful caretakers and medical professionals at Doctors Hospital who cared for Kathryn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at Newcomer Grove City, 3393 Broadway.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
