Kathryn Rickard Spies died peacefully Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Columbus West Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 82 years old.
Born in Rome, NY Kay Rickard traveled to Wiesbaden, Germany after graduating from high school to work as a secretary for the US Air Force. There she met and married Airman First Class James C. Spies of Cairo, IL.
After separating from the Air Force, Kay and Jim settled in Grove City, OH to raise their three sons, David, Steven, and Lee.
Beloved by her family and friends, Kay is survived by her son Steven and her grandchildren Melanie, Dustin, and Nicole.
