Katie Meeker

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Katie Meeker, 38, of Plain City, Ohio. Katie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025.

Katie is the oldest of 2 children. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1986 and adopted by Barry & Marilyn Lazarus at one day old. Katie grew up in Sylvania, Ohio. She is a graduate of Sylvania Southview High School, The Ohio State University, and Florida State University. Katie was a mental health counselor at Maryhaven where she worked with children and families. Katie was a selfless, loving and caring person. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and granddaughter. She was a ray of light to the world and all of the lives she touched.

Katie is preceded in death by her grandparents Albert and Toby Liebergott, and is survived by her husband Nick, children Logan (6) and Peyton (4), her parents Marilyn and Barry, her brother Eric, and countless other relatives and friends who loved her deeply.

The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, July 30th from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home in Powell, Ohio, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 31st at 10:00am, also at Newcomer. There will be a reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Katie’s wishes were to have donations made in her honor to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
