Kay Frances Springer

Kay Frances Springer, 87, passed away on March 27, 2026.  She was born in Glenford, OH on December 14, 1938.

Kay was a graduate of Glenford High School in 1955. She was a proud basketball cheerleader of the Golden Horde, played saxophone and was a majorette in the band. Kay loved living in Key West, FL while raising her children. In Ohio, she retired from Columbus Public Schools after working as an administrative assistant at Linden High School, Northland High School, and Northeast Career Center. Kay cherished spending time with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.W. Starkey and Olive Danison, grandparents, Marguerite Dupler Ridenour and Oscar Ridenour.

Surviving family includes children, Renee (Dean) Smith, Eric (Marcia) Springer, Kirk (Megan) Springer, grandchildren, Vincent (Ashley) Chickerella, Danielle (Dominic) Campanalie, Allison Springer, Amanda Springer, great-grandchildren, Carson, Clara, Peter, Caleb.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

A funeral service will begin at 10:30am, Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at 1pm at Highland Cemetery, Glenford, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Take Heart Cancer Community.
