Kenneth Lee Cranford, a beloved son, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully in Columbus, Ohio, on February 11, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on November 17, 1933, in Columbus, Kenneth lived a life full of love, laughter, and service. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War, exemplifying dedication and commitment both in his military service and throughout his life.
A devoted husband, Kenneth shared his life with his late wife, Marie, who he loved deeply and missed dearly after her passing. Together, they built a family that blossomed, and Kenneth cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his son Tommy Cranford, daughter Vickie Guthrie, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his sister Vivian M. Hockenberry, half-sisters Marilyn (Darl) Arbagast and Marjorie (Gary) Scobee, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who held him dear to their hearts.
Kenneth’s career included time at Lennox Industries and Penrod Construction Company before he found joy and companionship in his role at the Men's Golf Club in New Albany for 22 years after his retirement. His passion for life showed not only through his work ethic but also in the moments he cherished at home, where he loved to spend time with family—enjoying simple pleasures like a chat over a cup of coffee.
His warm personality and genuine kindness made him a friend to many; he never knew a stranger and was always eager to lend a helping hand. Strong in his faith, Kenneth lived life with vigor. Even at 92, he remained active, driving himself around and dressing impeccably. He loved the outdoors, often found enjoying long walks, hunting, tinkering with cars, and not missing a moment of sports on ESPN or his church on SBN.
As we remember Kenneth, we will hold dear the beautiful memories he left behind, reflecting on a life lived fully, surrounded by those he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth F. Cranford and Velma (VanBibber) Wolfe, stepfather Harold Wolfe, granddaughter Alexis Wolfe, brother Harold "Matt" Wolfe Jr., daughter-in-law Jeannie, and brother-in-law George Hockenberry. Each of these relationships shaped Kenneth's heart and spirit, and he will be missed profoundly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held on February 27, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a funeral service following at 6:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd in Columbus, Ohio.
Though Kenneth has departed, his legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all those he has touched.
