Kernnie "Pig" Howard, a beloved figure known for his humor and candid personality, passed away on May 21, 2025, in Galloway, Ohio. He was born on July 21, 1956, in Paintsville, Kentucky. Kernnie dedicated over 30 years of his life to running Howard's Trucking, where he was self-employed and made a lasting impression on many.
Kernnie was a man who had a unique way of connecting with people. He was always flipping off the camera, showcasing his playful spirit. His dirty sense of humor and forthrightness were endearing qualities that many cherished. Those who knew him loved him and appreciated how he always told it like it was.
His interests were as vibrant as his personality. He enjoyed spending his time at casinos, tinkering with old cars, racing them, and indulging in fishing and hunting. Kernnie could often be found enjoying a cold Bud Light while smoking his cigarettes, living life to the fullest.
Kernnie took immense pride in his family, which included his two daughters, Laurie (David) Howard and Christine (John Kastrevec). He was also a proud grandfather to Christopher, Jamie, Keith, and Aden. His siblings included his brother, Charles Howard, who will remember him dearly, as well as his brothers-in-law Gary Adkins and Dennis Phipps, sister-in-law Barbara Stewart, and numerous nieces and nephews who were all part of his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Patricia (Phipps), as well as his sisters Connie, Brenda, Betty Jo, Katherine, Vickie, Bobbie Jean, and Sue. Kernnie also joins his brothers Sherv and Jake, along with his parents, Melvin and Myrtle (LeMaster) Howard, in eternal rest.
Kernnie "Pig" Howard may have left this world, but the laughter and love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
