Kimberly Kay Cooper, 60, from Columbus, passed away Tuesday, 8/26/2025.
Kim was born November 15, 1964, at Eglin AFB Hospital in Florida to Glenn and Beverly (Kuhn) Cooper.
Kim’s birth was a miracle, arriving nearly three months early. Though born with a developmental disability, that would not define her. Kim became a special little Angel whose life was filled with joy, hugs, and love for everyone she met. She loved performing for her family with the newest dance moves, telling stories and jokes that made people laugh, and sharing her smile that would brighten any room. One of her proudest moments came through the Special Olympics, where she received a standing ovation in Ohio Stadium for her determination and spirit.
Kim found joy in animals—especially the loyal family dog, Trooper—as well as music, lighthearted shows, family gatherings and activities. Her gentle, caring nature touched everyone she knew and will be remembered as a gift of unconditional love.
Kim will be deeply missed by her parents, Glenn and Beverly Cooper, brother, Jeff Cooper, and sister, Stacy Schumacher and husband, Mike, and their children (nieces and nephews), Jordan Schumacher, Anna Schumacher and her partner, Nathan Johnson, Ryan Schumacher, and Jon Schumacher, and Anna and Nathan’s children Amber and Kayson.
There will be a private family gathering Sunday, August 31st at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus, to share our final goodbyes and celebrate the life of our little Angel who even in death passed the gift of life through organ donation.
