L. Stephen "Steve" Wellman

Lloyd Stephen “Steve” Wellman, 72, of Columbus, passed away at home, surrounded by family. He was born in Columbus to the late Robert and Myrtle (Justice) Wellman. He married Rena Marquardt February 7, 1978, and she survives.

Steve is also survived by children, Stephen (Jackie) Wellman and Jessie Wellman; grandchildren, Haley, Stephen II, Taylor, and Hunter Wellman; and many family members.

He loved to spend time with his grandkids, his pets, and telling stories to all who will listen. Steve loved music, reading, taking photos, a good ride on his Harley, and working with his hands; especially woodworking. He was a perfectionist, everything had to be precise.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 4pm to 6pm, Thursday, October 8, 2026; at Westerville Free Will Baptist Church, 390 E. College Ave, Westerville, 43081. A service to honor Steve’s life will be held at 6pm, at Westerville Free Will Baptist; services officiated by Pastor Michael Sammons.
