Larry S. Barker, 60, of Grove City, while surrounded by his family, went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2015 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Marysville, Ohio, on July 2, 1955, to Robert and Mildred Barker. He was raised in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Westland High School in 1973. He was an avid Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Chicago Cubs fan. He loved to teach sports to the youth in the community. He was a youth baseball, football, and basketball coach for over 40 years. He was very involved with his church and taught many people in his Sunday school classes. He worked as a supervisor at the distribution center for La-Z-boy Furniture. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Barker and his mother Mildred Barker. He is survived by his wife Patricia of 34 years, sons Keith Barker (Cari), John C. Schulz (Lora), and daughters Stephanie Kistler (Todd), and Patricia Emond (Rob), brother Gary Barker, sister Glenis Miller, grandsons Matthew, Joshua, Christopher, Michael, Trace, Hunter, Scott, Emerson, and Garret, granddaughters Emily, Averi, and Ursula and other family and friends. Visitation Sunday, Dec.13, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME SW, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Funeral Service Monday, Dec. 14, 2015 at 1pm at the Funeral Home.
