Listen to Obituary

Larry Ronald Moore, a beloved figure in both his family and community, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, in Grove City, Ohio. Born on July 29, 1940, in Wayne County, West Virginia, Larry led a life characterized by his unwavering dedication to family and hard work. He graduated from Fort Gay High School where he first showcased his remarkable spirit through sports, playing baseball, football, and basketball.

Larry's career in the construction industry spanned many years, embodying his strong work ethic and his belief that he could fix anything. His physical strength was matched only by his generosity; he was always ready to lend a helping hand, especially when it came to assisting others with car or house issues. With a warm smile that could brighten anyone’s day, Larry had the rare gift of making everyone feel valued and loved. He never created enemies and instead fostered deep connections with everyone around him.

A proud veteran, Larry served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961, demonstrating his commitment to his country. After his military service, he cultivated his spiritual life, attending Westgate Baptist Church for many years before becoming a devoted member of Highland Baptist Church.

Larry was also a passionate sports enthusiast. He was a fervent supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds, enjoyed golfing, and loved to watch NASCAR. Perhaps most cherished were the afternoons spent cheering for his grandchildren at their sporting events, where he found immense joy and pride.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Wilma (Waller) Moore; his daughter, Barbara (Gene) Hinson; his son, Dave (Michele) Moore; his daughter, Amy (Frank) Grove; and his grandchildren, Karly (Josh) Musick, Delaney Moore, Aidan Moore, Brennen Grove, and Carson Grove. He leaves behind his sister, Vonceille Dial, and brother, Carl James Moore, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever cherish his memory.

Larry's legacy is also woven with loss; he was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Sadie (Shannon) Moore; his grandson, Nicholas Hinson; and his brother, Murl Moore. Each of these individuals held a special place in his heart, and their memory will continue to inspire those who loved him.

In remembrance of Larry Ronald Moore, family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at Highland Baptist Church, located at 3460 Hoover Rd, Grove City, OH, on September 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on October 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will take place at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, OH, at 1:00 PM on the same day.

Larry's life was filled with the love for his family, a passion for helping others, and a dedication to his church. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and nurses at Traditions of Grove City Memory Care Unit for their remarkable care and dedication for the last several months of Larry's life.
