Larry Allen Shaver

Larry Allen Shaver, age 76, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, with his wife by his side. Born on November 29th, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert and Genevieve Shaver.

Larry was a devoted husband, brother, and friend. He built his career in the carpet installation industry, where he worked hard until his retirement. Larry was also very proud of his service to his country. He spent two years in the United States Marine Corps, where he was discharged in 1971.

A man of many passions, Larry spent countless hours building remote control airplanes and enjoyed his time out on the flying field immensely. Later in life, he discovered a new love for the guitar. Teaching himself to play, he grew a small collection, and found comfort and creativity in music. He also cherished time outdoors, taking scenic walks in our state parks, and capturing the beauty of nature through his camera lens.

Larry had a true spirit of adventure. Travel was one of his greatest joys, especially when shared with those he loved most. From numerous Caribbean cruises, to unforgettable trips to Las Vegas, Larry embraced every opportunity to explore, laugh, and create lasting memories with his wife, brothers, and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Terry Shaver and David Shaver, and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Gilliam.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon Shaver; sister, Margaret Gilliam; brother, Gary (Joyce) Shaver; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Shaver and Joanie Shaver; stepson, Robert Bell; aunt, Rachel Hayes; and many cherished nieces and nephews. 

He will be deeply missed.

Family will welcome friends and loved ones on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio.
