Lawrence Short
January 12, 1941 — December 14, 2019
Lawrence E. Short, 78, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away December 14, 2019. He was born in Logan, West Virginia on January 12, 1941 to the late Sam and Sarah Short.
He is preceded in death by his brother Ted Short, sisters Edith Jesse, Julie McDounah, and Naomi Jude.
Surviving family includes wife of 58 1/2 years Ethel Short; daughters, Sarah Short, Hellen (Lesley) Boester; sons, Sam Short, Lawrence (Mary) Short; grandchildren, Sam, Heidi, Victoria, Asa, Ron, Lawrence, Brandon, Jeff; great grand-children, Troy, Owen, Vinny, and two more on the way.
Bob Hush was his best friend and lifelong friend.
Lawrence was enlisted in the Ohio National Guard in 1960 and retired as E8 First Sergeant. He also retired from the Columbus Division of Water.
He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything in the world.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW, Grove City on Friday, December 20th, 2019.
Burial will follow in procession to Jackson Township Cemetery.
