Lennie Marie Boyd, 73, departed this life surrounded by her family on Friday, July 29, 2016. She was born on July 9, 1943 in Columbus, OH to George and Vandella (Barnett) Jordan.
Lennie is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, David, Homer, Ambrose, Floyd, Jerry and Irene.
She is survived by husband of 55 years, Odell Boyd; children, Sherry Boyd, Odell Boyd Jr., and Mark (Quan) Boyd; grandchildren, Curtis, Odell "Scotty", Valentino, Carnessa, Carlena, Kennedy and Matthew; siblings, Viola Bosley, Reverend George Jordan, Andrew Jordan, Elaine Walker, Kathleen Jordan and Alfred Jordan; and many other loving family members and friends.
Lennie graduated from East High School in 1960. She worked for 23 years as a Technician at Western Electric before her retirement. Lennie was a member of Advent Church in Columbus, OH. Lennie had a contagious laugh that brought joy to everyone around her. She was a loving person to everyone she met and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231 followed by Funeral Services at 3:00pm. A private interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
