Lewis Davis Jr., 69, of Columbus, passed away July 6, 2019. Lewis was born March 22, 1950 to Lewis and Doretha (Hicks) Davis.
He proudly served in the United States Army where he was a Military Police officer during the Vietnam War. Lewis was awarded a certificate of recognition of meritorious performance of duty for displaying exceptional degree of devotion to duty in support of military police operations in the Republic of Vietnam. He was a retired federal employee. Lewis enjoyed golfing, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
Lewis will be deeply missed by his wife Shirley (Valentine) Davis; children Shamela Bell, Antowine Valentine, Charmain Valentine-Rule; grandchildren Kyndall, Kambryn, Kynnadii; brothers Ben Davis, Rodney Davis; sisters Margaret Brown and Lori Banks, mother-in-law Mary Mayles along with many nieces and nephews.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charlie Davis and Larry Davis and sister Patricia Davis.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 9am to 10 am at Newcomer NE Chapel 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus, with funeral services to follow at 10am.
Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery.
