Lillian Succumbed to the ravages of Diabetes and several strokes on October 20, 2017 at the Columbus Ohio Alzheimer Center. She was the loving wife of Donald E. Himes of Dublin, Ohio, formerly of East Berlin, PA. They shared 54 years of married life. Lillian was born in Abbottstown, PA on April 24, 1943 to Lester E. and Helen Amanda Jane Crawford Nickey. She graduated from Spring Grove High School, Class of 1961. After graduating she worked in the banking field in York, Harrisburg and Cleveland, Ohio. She continued her educated at night and weekends at Penn State York and Penn State Harrisburg, with a Bachelor of Humanities degree from Penn State. She continued studying and received the degree of Master of Science in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Clarion, PA. She then worked as the Medical Librarian at the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, MD for 15 years. After retiring, she continued her hobbies of knitting, reading, cooking and making quilts. She loved to travel all over the United States and especially to Quilt Seminars and Shows. She also enjoyed several trips to Europe. She also enjoyed going to and watching on TV with her husband the Cleveland sports teams and Ohio State football and basketball. She is survived by her husband, Donald and one daughter, Andrea (Mrs. James McDonough) of Hilliard, Ohio and 3 grandchildren, Eamon and Alaina McDonough and William Berry. Lillian is preceded in death by her oldest daughter Stephanie. She is also survived by a sister Peggy M. Westerhold of Hanover, PA and several cousins.
