Lillie M. White, born on April 4, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, at the age of 95. She was a cherished resident of her hometown, known for her warm spirit, her love of family and her notable talents decorating and gardening.
Lillie was the proud daughter of Robert Poe and Bessie Funk. She was the sister to Earl, Anna, Margie, and Ed, each of whom has predeceased her, along with her beloved husband, George E. White, and her great granddaughter, Michelle.
Throughout her life, Lillie displayed a remarkable enthusiasm for her hobbies and interests. A devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, she found joy in spirited games and gatherings. Her passion for gardening brought vitality and color to her home, complemented by her skill in decorating that transformed spaces into reflections of her creative spirit. Additionally, she enjoyed watching golf, often sharing these moments with her family who admired her keen eye for details.
Lillie is survived by her loving family, which includes her daughter Peggy (Larry) Schumacher and son Duke (Christina) Buckner. She took great pride in her 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire them and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A visitation in honor of Lillie M. White will be held on April 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231.
Lillie's life was a testament to love, creativity, and the joy of familial bonds. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her warmth and unwavering spirit.
