Linda Dorene Sumner

Linda Dorene Sumner was born on November 2, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harvey and Hazel (Salyers) Coons. She passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by people who loved her.

Linda is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dallas; her children, Cynthia (William) Wheeler, Jennifer (Todd) Gertler, and Stephen Sumner; grandchildren, Leah, Rebecca, Kody, Matthew, Michael, Margaret, and Henry; many great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Larry) Ratliff, brother, Michael Coons; mother in law, Ruth Sumner, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Cathy Coons, and sister in law, Terry Coons.

Linda had many jobs through the years, as she was devoted to her family. She was the Pastor for the Church of God in Hilliard, Ohio. Linda worked the voting polls, she enjoyed gardening, enjoyed many vacations to St.Pete beach and Disneyworld in Florida. She and Dallas went on many missionary trips to Central America and Israel. She was an avid bible reader and she loved the Lord. Camels were her favorite animal, she enjoyed tv game shows, dramas, golden age tv and sci-fi movies. She loved time with her grandchildren and family the most.

There will a memorial service later this month at Green Lawn Cemetery. Please check back for updates.
