Linda Kay Thompson Medley

Linda Kay Thompson Medley, age 68, formerly of Catlettsburg, KY, went home to be with the Lord, on March 17, 2020, in Ocala, Florida. She was a 1969 graduate of Boyd County High School. She retired from Children's Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio, after 25 years of service. On May 29, 1969 she married the love of her life, Darrell Thompson. After 40 years of marriage, Darrell passed away in 2009. She remarried on Aug. 25, 2018 to Daniel Medley. In addition to Darrell, Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Frenchie and Pauline Cornette.

She is survived by her loving children, Jimmy Thompson, of Grove City, OH, Brian (Cleta) Thompson of Ashland, KY, and Karen (Derrick) Allen, of Columbus, OH; 7 grandchildren, Brittany (Tyler) Higgenbotham, Jamie (Travis) Casey, Cody (Brianna) Thompson, Kayla (Josh) Chapman, Kenny Allen, Dougie (Stephanie) Hale, and Jennifer Hale; 5 great-grandchildren, Alaric, Aizen, Bransen, Madison, and Nevaeh, and another great-grandson on the way.

She belonged to the United Baptist Church in Columbus, OH. While residing in Ocala, Florida she attended Southern Home Old Regular Baptist Church. She loved the Lord dearly with all of her heart. Her favorite scripture in Gods Word is Psalm 18:2. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. She will be forever missed by many family and friends. Our loss is Heavens gain where she is free from death and pain.

Visitation Monday, March 23, 2020 from 4-8pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 9am at the Funeral Home. Elder Bill Baisden to officiate. Interment to follow immediately after at Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV.
