Lisa Jo Huntzinger, 52, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly September 11, 2020. She was born on January 11, 1968 to Jo Ann Kerwood (Steel) and Robert Kiger.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Casey N. Drake.
Surviving family includes children Cody Drake, Kelly (Troy) Hammet; father, Robert Kiger; mother, Jo Ann (John) Kerwood; grandsons, Anthony Drake, A'Zavion Drake, Jaxon Hammett; granddaughters Madelyn Hammett, Brooklyn Hammett; sister, Sandra Huntzinger; brother, Nicholas (Donna) Huntzinger Jr.; and grandparents, Charles and Darlene Steel who she loved with all her heart.
Lisa had a life like few others. Her dream was to one day own her own Harley Davidson motorcycle and ride across the country seeking adventure. Lisa loved her children and grandchildren with all she had to give. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. Her energy with her grandchildren was incomparable. She would craft with them and do things they'd always remember about their days with her.
She found joy in little things such as camping and fishing, listening to music while gardening, and making jewelry. She was always willing to help those in need when she could. She frequently helped mothers by getting clothes, toys, and needed items so they wouldn't have to do without or would connect people that needed help to services. She was also an entrepreneur throughout her life. She started her own cleaning business, would scour thrift stores for clothes to resell and furniture to paint or repair to something valuable. She was always willing to try something new.
The best thing about Lisa was her laugh and finding joy in the moment. When listening to a story told by her brother Nick, she'd be laughing with him before he finished. When her kids were around, she glowed with love and hope. When she played with her grandchildren or nephews, she'd have them laughing the entire time or anticipating what was next. People that met Lisa rarely forgot her and that is how we want her remembered. May she finally rest in peace.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with funeral services immediately following. Burial will follow in procession to Blendon Central Cemetery - Westerville, OH.
