Lisa C. Phelps, 65, passed away June 26, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Darrell Koch and Wilma (Leidy) Koch. Lisa is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dorr R. Phelps; children, Michelle N. (Dustin) Highnote, Tim G. Phelps, and Danielle C. (Phillip) Kisamore; siblings, Sharney (Molly) Koch and Tina (Merrille) Shop; nieces, Lauren (Tim) Hull and Kayla Shop; other extended family and friends. Lisa was born March 11, 1959, in Mansfield, Ohio and then moved to Worthington, Ohio where she eventually met and wed her husband, Dorr at Grace Brethren Church of Polaris. They have resided in Westerville, Ohio for the last 38 years. She graduated from Thomas Worthington High School in 1977, and later from Columbus Business University. Lisa worked for the architectural department of Ohio, several law firms, and helped her husband and son at the family business, Phelps Financial Services, Inc. Lisa enjoyed spending time volunteering for the American Red Cross in Columbus, the VA, International Friendships, counseling at several detention centers, and working with special needs children with her church. As Lisa and Dorr's three children journeyed through Worthington Christian Schools, she volunteered at the school and assisted children, including her own. Lisa also spent many years transcribing messages and doing administrative work with Reverend Dave Bogue at Finish Line Ministries, Incorporated.
She fell in love with horses at a young age and fostered that into adulthood. At her own home, she tended to her gardens. She enjoyed watching her beloved Buckeyes, horse races, reading, and sharing her love for books with others. Lisa enjoyed refuge with good books, chocolate treats and her beloved cat, Mocha. Lisa enjoyed the company of her cats, listening to Dennis Prager, Yanni, Bee Gees, and Cynthia Clawson, and finished her evenings with her daily devotions. Over the last few months, Lisa developed a deep appreciation for Cello hymns to which she would listen, watch and mediate. She even enjoyed watching golf with Dorr. Lisa was health conscious and a coupon connoisseur who took part in as many yard sales as she could find. In the fall, the family visited Amish shops in Holmes County and in the spring, they spent time at Hilton Head Island, SC. Lisa loved to travel with Dorr to Europe, Canada, Mexico, the USA, the Middle East, a trip that was a real joy for her, and several cruises. One of her favorite cruises was the Alaskan Inland water way.
Lisa's two biggest priorities in life were her family's happiness and success and their salvation.

The Phelps family and friends would like to offer a special thank you to Mount Carmel Hospice at St. Ann's Hospital, Newcomer Funeral Home, Grace Fellowship Church of Westerville, and many other churches that we are associated with for worship and our family business for their help, prayers, and encouragement as well as our many friends during this very difficult time. Please rejoice with us Lisa is free from the illness that was so difficult to deal with, and is with Jesus who she looked forward to seeing face to face. She would desire that you also should choose to know Jesus in a personal relationship as she, and know for certain as she where she would spend eternity. Psalms 40 1-4a. and John 3:16 talk about the love of Jesus for you and me. A tree is being planted in Israel in her memory by a Messianic Church here in Columbus, Ohio that her mother helped to start.
