Lois Annette Duncan

Lois Annette Duncan, a devoted nurse and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in Grove City, Ohio. Born on January 10, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas, Lois lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and love for those she cared for and cherished most.

From her early years, Lois demonstrated an unwavering commitment to learning and service. She graduated from Elyria High School and pursued higher education with remarkable determination, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene College. Embracing her calling in healthcare, Lois furthered her expertise by obtaining a nursing degree from Mansfield School of Nursing, a stepping stone that paved the way for a meaningful career devoted to the well-being of others.

Lois’s career as a registered nurse was distinguished and impactful. She began her nursing career at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio and she then moved to Columbus, Ohio. She served tirelessly at Riverside Methodist Hospital before dedicating herself to Pediatric Home Health Care. It was here that her gentle spirit truly shone as she brought comfort, care, and healing to children and their families. Through her work, Lois became more than a nurse; she became a beacon of hope and kindness in the lives of many.

Her life was also deeply enriched by her close-knit family. Lois was a loving sister to Linda (Larry) Pusey, Esther (Rick) Toland, Sarah (John) Mulvany, and Christie (Jim) Abendroth. Their bond was a source of strength and joy, woven tightly through years of shared memories and unconditional support. She was a beloved aunt to nieces and nephews Jenny (Jon) Wagner, Joy (Jeremy) Stockett, Laura (Andrew) Dunlap, Sam (Amy) Toland, Nate (Molly) Toland, Ann (Adam) Mulvany-Lantz, Emily (Noah) Brislen, Jessica (John) Song, Abbie Abendroth, and Deborah (John) Wells. Her nurturing nature extended to great nieces and nephews Emily and Paul Wagner, Ian, Luke, Libby Stockett, Rory and Hayden Dunlap, Hawke Toland, Jackson Lantz, and Micah Song, each of whom carried forward a piece of her loving spirit.

While Lois was preceded in death by her father, Harley Fountain Duncan, and her mother, Mary Linda Jeffries, the legacy she leaves behind is vibrant and enduring. The imprint of her kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication continues to inspire all who knew her.

As we remember Lois Annette Duncan, we celebrate a life beautifully lived—through service, love, and a heart that cared deeply for family and community alike. Her memory will remain a treasure, a guiding light of tenderness and grace shining brightly in the hearts of her family and all whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 23, at 12 noon, preceded at 11 by an hour of visitation at the Upper Sandusky Trinity Evangelical Church, where Lois attended.
