Lois Ann Jamison

On November 11,1951, Lois Ann Richardson (Adams) Jamison, was born in Atlanta, TX to Willie B. Richardson Sr. and Mother Losie V. Rivers. The Lord called one of His soldiers home on July 13,2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Lois graduated valedictorian class of 1970 from Mechanic Arts High School, St. Paul, MN, where she and her group Lois and the Melonettes would perform around the city and her brother; Willie Jr co-hosted their high schools radio show. Always interviewing students and local bands. Including a young up and coming Prince. After High School, Lois worked as a desk clerk for the State of Minnesota Research and Taxation and Burlington Northern Railroad. Furthering her education and her passion for broadcasting, Lois went on to attend and graduated from Brown Institute of Radio and Television Broadcast Technology, Minneapolis,MN in 1976, with a degree in Communications and Radio Broadcasting and a 1st Class F.C.C License; being one of two black women and top five in her class. Then completing her education at American School of Broadcasting, Columbus, OH in 1982. Throughout her career, Lois worked at various radio stations around the country: K-104FM Grand Prairie, (Dallas)TX, KUXL, Golden Valley, MN and KJLH Ivory Tower Media Co., Los Angeles, CA. Early in her career she was known as Brown Sugar then later re-emerged as Annette Ms.Phoenix. Lois also had her own transportation business in Columbus, picking up and dropping off all different kinds of people from all around Columbus and surrounding areas.

Lois was dedicated and baptized at Hendrix Temple Church of God in Christ, Atlanta, TX under the late Elder Hendrix. Being apart of YPWW Sunday School, under the supervision of great Grandparents and Grandmother Mr. & Mrs. D. White and Mother Matilda Thomas. At age 6 she, her brother and their mother moved to Dalhart, TX and there the family joined Antioch Baptist Church under the late Rev. Nelson. There Lois began to understand Who God is and what serving The Lords house ment. After getting baptized at 7 she joined various Youth Ministries: Youth Choir, Youth Ushers, Youth Missionary and BYPU Sunday School. Then at age 11 the family moved to Denver, Colorado and joined Zion Baptist Church, under the late Rev. W.T. Liggins. Even in a new city, new state, Lois still grew closer with God and continued to serve. Joining Youth Choir, Girls Octet, Youth Usher, Jr. Nurse Training, Sunday School and Baptist Training Unit. In high school, the family left and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota later joining Mt. Olivet Baptist Church under the late Rev. S. R. King. In her adult years, Lois moved and settled in Columbus,OH joining The Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, under the late Dr. G. T. Turner Sr. Where she was active in the Women’s Fellowship (PULSE Ministry), Children’s Band, Daughter’s of Zion, Noon Day Prayer, Friendship Jubilee Choir, Mass (Pastoral) Choir and initiator of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Drill Team. After her time at Friendship, God later pulled Lois to join Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, under Pastor Emeritus Bishop Donald J. Washington Sr. There she was an advent Bible Study and Sunday School attendant and initiator of the Mt. Hermon God’s Chosen Few Drill Team.

Lois just wasn’t a servant in The Lords House but also all around the Linden Community. Being team mother for the Linden Eagles and a parent volunteer at East Linden Elementary Elementary. Lois was not much of a “bragger” per se, she was a woman who walked with elegance and talked with class; a real queen. There were three things that Lois loved most: The Word of God, her family and her home state the great state of Texas. She loved making trips to see various family all over. She would not stop there though, on her way back to Columbus, she would make a pit stop in Mississippi to spend time with her nieces Mechelle, Shalom, Raja and Amana. Lois was just always on the go; whether it was carpooling youth to Drill Team practices, taking clients back and forth to appointments, going out of state to visit relatives or running around with her children and grandchildren. Lois’s other interests included: fishing, playing her card games, cooking, watching tv shows/movies, dancing and singing. That is just who Lois was— a woman with scripture and a Word, a warm smile, the life of the party, love and always there for any and everyone in need.

Lois is preceded in death by maternal and paternal Grandparents; father: Willie B. Richardson Sr.; stepfather: Mims Rivers; stepmother: Vannie Walker-Richardson; Father and Mother-in Law Calvin Jamison Sr. and Francis Williams; brothers: Earl Walker, Carl Richardson and Gregory Richardson; son: Raymond Lee deSean Richardson; and granddaughter: BriAnna Robinson.

She is survived by; her husband; Calvin Jamison Jr.; her loving mother: Mother Losie V. Rivers; brothers: Willie (Bubba) Richardson Jr., Richard (Mary) Richardson, and James Richardson; sisters: Anthony(Ann) Richardson-Greene, Evelyn (Put) Richardson; aunt: Karen (Lil’ Mama) Richardson-Crawford; uncles: Charles Richardson, Dr. Levi Thomas; 6 children: David Adams III, Selma (James) Robinson, Alicia Jamison Henry, Mary (Dawayne) Taylor, Marlena Jamison, and Christopher Jamison; 16 grandchildren: TaTiana Robinson, Dreama Swanigan, Kenyon Jamison, David Adams IV, Milicia Henry, Brian Adams, Briyon Jamison, Montrial Jamison-Waller, Michaela Henry, Kaylin Adams, Xaviar Jamison-Waller, DaViAnna Brown, Ethan Taylor, Adam Miller, Quincy Jamison-Waller, and Aaden Taylor; 1 great granddaughter: Ken’Aire; honorary grandchildren: Kristen Hanks, Raymond Key III, RonRicco Bryant and Kamiya Carter; and granddogger: Amber. And a host of nieces nephews in Minnesota and nieces, nephews and cousins in Texas.

Lois loved Gods Word in its entirety but these two scriptures stood out to her the most: Psalms 23 and Psalms 91. Though we are saddened by her physical passing, we know that she knew of a Savior that held her closer than we ever could. You ran the race, you kept the fight, you shed your blood for what was right. Lois, you are a conqueror.
