Listen to Obituary

Lori Lee Hodges (née Sigg), age 60, passed away on February 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Lori was a proud graduate of Greater Johnstown High School and briefly attended Indiana University. Though she later made her home in Ohio, Johnstown always remained part of her story.

Lori met the love of her life, Robert, in San Diego while visiting her sister — a meeting that would change the course of her life. They were married on April 4,1987, beginning a partnership that spanned nearly 39 years rooted in devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. Together they built a beautiful life, living in Marion, North Carolina, and Reading, Pennsylvania, before eventually settling in Columbus, Ohio, where they planted lasting roots and raised their family.

Lori was a devoted mother to her two sons, Michael and Joshua, who were the pride and joy of her life. Whether she was cheering them on, fishing beside them on a pier in North Carolina during their cherished annual beach trips, or simply sitting nearby reading in the sand, she treasured every moment spent with them and was the ultimate fun mom. The North Carolina coast held a special place in her heart, as did those simple, sun-filled days together.

She was a beloved sister to Randy and Cindy and a cherished aunt to ten nieces and nephews, including her niece Megan. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and deepest joy.

For more than 30 years, Lori worked in the cafeteria at Worthington Kilbourne High School. In that role, she was more than a familiar face — she was a steady, caring presence to generations of students and staff. Her selfless caregiving spirit extended far beyond her job; she instinctively took care of everyone around her.

Lori found happiness in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved cooking meals at home for her family, losing herself in a good book, watching the snow fall, and surrounding herself with her favorite color — orange. She was known by all for her quick sense of humor, her selfless heart, and her joyous, unmistakable laugh that could brighten any room.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; her sons, Michael and Joshua; her sister, Cindy; her brother, Randy; her niece, Megan and nephews Bryan and Stephen; and her loyal dog, Scout. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 22, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Dublin Green Condominiums Clubhouse, 6775 Meadow Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43235. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Lori’s life, share memories, and celebrate the love she gave so freely. The family requests donations be made to Pink Ribbon Good in lieu of flowers.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there.

I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush. I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.

A Mother’s Love

A Mother’s love is something that no one can explain,

It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,

It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may

For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .

It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,

And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . .

It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,

And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .

It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,

And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .

A many splendored miracle man cannot understand

And another wondrous evidence of God’s tender guiding hand.
