Makaila Lian Manley-Williams, age 9, of Grove City, unexpectedly received her angel wings on March 21 at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She is now free of pain and suffering and no longer will need her wheelchair. She is in Heaven WALKING the streets of gold!
She is preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Vernice Williams; great-grandparents, Clyde and Wanda Carter, William and Marcia Manley; Uncle, Ron Manley; Aunt, Robin Carter and her beloved companion dog "Peanut."
Makaila is survived by her parents, Chuck and Mindi Williams; sister, Madisyn; brothers, Nathen and Ayden; grandparents, William and Michele Manley; Aunts, Amy "Mimi" Fulks and Lizzie Nelson; uncles, Danny (Michelle) Williams and Chad Pettry; special cousins, Ryleigh and Aleigh Fulks and Dillon Williams. She is also survived by a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her special neurosurgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Leonard and his staff.
Makaila was a very bright and happy little girl who never knew a stranger. Once you met Makaila, her smile and personality was something you will never forget! She loved everyone! Makaila spent a lot of time at Nationwide Children's Hospital due to her being born with Myelomeningocele Spina Bifida. No matter what she was going through or how much pain she was in, she was ALWAYS SMILING! She was a fighter until the end.
Makaila was a Nationwide Children's Hospital Patient Champion Mile #4 in 2016, she was the "Face of Justice" Ambassador for their 2016 Give Hope Campaign, participated in Grove City Buddy Ball in 2016 and 2017, Children's Miracle Network in 2017, Lane Bryant and Nationwide Children's Hospital "Inspire To Give" Campaign with Pretty Big Movement in 2017 and Firelight Home School Co-op 2017-2018. Makaila was our famous celebrity with a big heart!
Visitation will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 FROM 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Newcomer Grove City, 3393 Broadway.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Southwest Free Will Baptist Church, 1542 Greenleaf, Columbus, OH 43223.
Interment to follow at Concord Cemetery (New Section), Grove City. OH.
