Listen to Obituary

Marana "May" Holt, born July 19, 2002, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away on June 6, 2002, in her hometown of Columbus. Though her time with us was all too brief, May’s impact was nothing short of profound, marked by a spirit of love, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those around her.

May was a tender soul with an extraordinary heart. She devoted her career to health care, taking on roles as a direct care associate, trainer, and unit manager at Heinzerling Community, where her unique compassion for residents shone brightly. Her days were often filled with stories—both joyful and challenging—that revealed a woman who continually chose to shine her light in every corner she touched. Most recently, May worked at Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry, dedicating herself to her clients through active listening and heartfelt advice, embodying the very essence of empathy in her practice.

Her educational journey was one of perseverance and hope. Graduating from Central High School in 2020 amid the challenges of the Covid shutdown, she distinguished herself with a special interest in Phlebotomy. With dreams of further serving others, May enrolled at Felbry College of Nursing, aspiring to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Among her proudest accomplishments were earning her diploma during such difficult times, embracing the responsibilities of single motherhood, and pursuing her calling in nursing—all while being a steadfast presence when her loved ones needed her most.

Those who knew May will forever cherish memories of her vibrant personality—her laughter that filled the air, her affectionate hugs, her playful spirit when interacting with little ones, and her endearing habit of "running her mouth" with unabashed honesty. Family time was sacred to her, whether swimming, binge-watching favorite shows, or simply sharing moments that revealed her growth into the beautiful woman and devoted mother she became.

May was deeply loved by her family, who remember her as very loving, caring, and compassionate, though she could also be self-centered and extremely selfish at times—a duality that made her all the more human. Pops affectionately reminded her just how spoiled she was, a testament to the close bonds she shared with those near to her heart.

She is lovingly remembered and survived by her mother, Michele (Ron) Robertson; her daughter, Laryah Caliyah Littlefield; and father, Clyde Thomas Littlefield, Jr. May’s siblings—Dennis Wesley Holt, Jr., Daria Hailey Holt, Davion Amari Holt, Devon and Domonic Robertson, Lemondtae Bass—carry her memory forward, as do her mother- and father-in-law Moira and Clyde Littlefield Sr., sister-in-law Alexis Littlefield, and the many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends who cherished her presence.

May’s life was also shaped by those who now rest in peace: her father, Dennis Wesley Holt, Sr., and her grandparents, Rise (Schlichter) Burr and Patrick Eugene Burr. Their legacy lives on in the love she carried and shared.

A visitation will be held on June 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio, 43123. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 7:00 p.m.

Though her journey was short, the love she gave and the lives she touched remain deeply etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
