Margaret Rose Bobo (Smith), a long time resident of New Albany, Ohio went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. She was surrounded by her family, whom she loved to pieces. She was born on July 29, 1941. Margaret was a graduate of Marion Franklin High School and was at the top of her class. She retired from Ohio Bell "The Telephone Company" after 33 years of service. She was an active member of the New Albany United Methodist Church, The Daughters of the American Revolution as past Registrar, and the Daughters of the War of 1812 as Librarian and past President. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 55 years, Carl Bobo; Daughters Vicki (Douglas) McKinney, Carla Yoder, and Christi (Marty) Weiss; Grandchildren Christopher (Molly) McKinney, Jessica (Brian) Wetzel, Corinne Windle, Whitney Yoder, Eli Yoder, Noah Yoder, and Joel Windle; Great-Grandchildren Ashlynn Wetzel, Max McKinney, and Avery Wetzel; Sisters Dorothy Haymond, Susan (Bill) Phillips, and Patty Lindsey; many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends Patty Love, Verlo, and Rosemary Walton. Margaret is preceded in death by parents, Charles and Goldie Smith and beloved dog, Dingo. Margaret was a true lady and had many passions in life, but the greatest love was for her family. She especially enjoyed time spent with family on their houseboat at the Holiday Point Marina on the Ohio River. Her daughters ask that you think of Margaret whenever you see a hummingbird or Iris, as they were among some of her most favorite things.
Friends and family may call on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, Ohio. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00am and will be followed by a burial at Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany.
