Margaret "Polly" Ann Deem

May 19, 1931 — May 28, 2025

Columbus, Ohio

Margaret “Polly” Ann Deem, 94, of Columbus, passed away May 28, 2025. She was born in Paducah, Kentucky on May 19, 1931 to the late Roy and Fannie Adelle (Troutman) Hughes. She married Vernon “Wayne” Deem and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2006.

Margaret is survived by two daughters, Linda Stromeyer and Debbie Cumbow; three grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ruth Gourley; and many other family members and friends.

Along with her parents and loving husband, Polly was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Deem; sons-in-law, Charles Cumbow and Henry Stromeyer.

Polly was a dedicated partner and mother, following Wayne where ever life took them. Polly and Wayne curated a home of love and support for their children, and the generations that followed. She was a dedicated homemaker, but when she wasn’t caring for everyone she was an exceptional seamstress, amazing cook, and a member of Jersey Baptist Church for many years.

A graveside service to honor Polly’s life will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio.
