Margaret Ann (Peggy) Shover slipped into the arms of her Savior on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Peg endured a nearly 5-year struggle with colon/breast/endometrial cancers.
She was the daughter of the late Lyle D. and Martha M. (McCormick) Shover and was the younger sister to Mary (Mark) Price and beloved aunt to Luke (fiancé Courtney Ducharme) and John Price. Peggy graduated from Columbus West High School in 1977 and was a trusted employee of Abbott Foods and later Abbott Management Group since 1978. She was a 40+ year member of Xenos Christian Fellowship where she served in Children's Ministry for several years and later at the Bookstore. Always interested in what was going on with other people, she was a caring and devoted friend to many.
Peggy's service to the Lord stretched far and wide over her time here on earth, even after her cancer diagnosis. She could be found changing bandages for a close friend who also had cancer, coming along side of an immigrant couple and their children who loved her, visiting with the elderly, helping with food preparation at a local food pantry and countless other ways she found to serve. Peggy had a head for details and planning, loved to take trips to places far and wide whenever she had the opportunity, and could tell a story like no one else of her interesting adventures with everything from train rides to horseback riding to eating out or simply going to the movies!
Besides her parents, Peggy was also preceded in death by grandparents, Ormond L. and Lois M. (Row) Shover and Thomas S. and Dolly I. (Wallace) McCormick, Aunt and Uncle Patricia A. and Charles E. Robinson and a first cousin, Charles T. Robinson.
She is survived by 2 other first cousins, Anna (William) Herbert and Mark (Alina) Robinson and Charlie's widow, Angie (John Crowley) as well as numerous 2nd and 3rd cousins from both sides of the family. Peggy will be missed by many! Special thanks to the great ICU staff at Riverside as well as the Ohio Health Hospice team.
A visitation and memorial service will be held in the evening on July 18 at Dwell Community Church (formerly Xenos Christian Fellowship) 1390 Community Park Dr, Columbus, OH 43229.
