Margaret Ann Swatik

October 15, 1931 — June 3, 2017

Margaret Ann (Demas) "Margie" Swatik, age 85, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, with her family at her side. Margie was born in Wauseon, Ohio and was raised in Bryan, Ohio. She was blessed in having loving, caring and devoted parents, the late Cyrus and Helen Demas, both immigrants of Sparta, Greece.

Margie lived in Minerva Park for nearly 40 years and more recently resided in Westerville in the Medallion Country Club community. She graduated from Bryan High School in 1949 and The Ohio State University in 1953 where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. From college, Margie started work at F & R Lazarus and was eventually promoted to an Executive position. It was at the beginning of her Lazarus career that she met her beloved husband George, in an executive training program. From there, she worked for the Ohio State Bar Association. Eventually, Margie joined HER Realty where she received many awards during her 30+ Years in Real Estate.

She and George are long-time members of Central College Presbyterian Church and are Social members at Medallion Country Club in Westerville, OH.
Margie and George were extremely active in numerous organizations and activities while residing in Minerva Park. Margie was also an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed nothing more than a crisp autumn football Saturday.

Margie is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Mary Alice Demas. She leaves to celebrate her life; her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, George, daughters Susan (David) Specht, Julie (David) Wallace, grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler (Specht) and Zachary (Wallace), and devoted brother James (Barbara) Demas. She also leaves behind sisters-in-law Violette (Fisher), Lorry (Szabo) and numerous nieces and nephews. Margie was a devoted animal lover and a heartfelt supporter of animal causes. Over the years, she so loved her spoiled pet poodles (Toto, Mickey and Mr. Elliot) and she would want a loving mention of them.

Throughout her life she maintained a warm and gentle demeanor that won the hearts of many. She leaves behind a deep void in our lives.
