Maria Liston

Maria Liston, 58, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio. Maria was born on April 11, 1968 in Columbus, OH to Richard Aloysius and Darlene Regina (Blackstone) Liston.

Maria is preceded in death by her mother, Darlene, her paternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by her father Richard (Pat) Liston, daughter, Jennifer Thompson, siblings, Mike (Nell) Liston, Doug (Connie) Liston, and Diane (Adam) Frix, and her best friend Amy Webster, and multiple nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her three little men, Brantley Morehouse, Tucker Morehouse, and Leo Liston.

She loved animals, especially Lulu, Georgia Sue, and Tink. She was passionate about the Beagle Freedom Project and the Joshua Tree Reptile Haven, adopting Georgia Sue from the Beagle Freedom Project.

She graduated from Beechcroft High School. She worked at Aetna Insurance for 19 years and Centene Corporation for 11 years. She also volunteered at the Citizens for Humane Action (CHA) for 10 years.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. A funeral service will follow immediately after also at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beagle Freedom Project or Joshua Tree Reptile Haven in Maria's honor.
