Marian Jennett Tribune was born on April 30, 1939, in Anniston, Alabama and peacefully departed this life on November 20, 2025 at the age of 86. She was the eldest of four children born to Mitchell Swain and Katherine Nedd.
Marian’s journey led her family to Columbus, Ohio, where she graduated from Columbus East High School before pursuing her dream at the School of Cosmetology. She married the love of her life, Bobby Tribune, in 1963 and to their union, they were blessed with two children, Roslyn and Robert. In the mid-1970s, with the unwavering support of her beloved husband, Marian's dream blossomed into reality when she became the proud owner of her own hair salon. For many years, she poured her passion into her craft as a stylist, touching countless lives one beautiful transformation at a time.
Marian's life was a symphony of simple joys and deep devotion. She was a lover of music and anytime she heard a favorite song playing, she couldn’t help but start smiling and moving to the beat! Marian’s love of music led to her learning to play the piano as a favorite pastime.
Marian’s greatest gift was preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. A masterful cook who needed no recipe, Marian could prepare just about anything, especially dishes with southern roots! Her kitchen was where love became tangible, where family gathered, and where memories were seasoned to perfection.
Above all, Marian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby Tribune, her sister Dean Swain-Moorcroft, and her brother Mitchell Swain Jr. She is survived by her children, Roslyn (James) Jenkins and Robert Tribune; sister, Carmen Robinson; stepchildren Duane (Debbie) Tribune and Antoinette Colvin; ten cherished grandchildren, Tanika, Shayla, Norreen, Watkee, Johnathan, Tyonna, Dominic, Jerrica, Danielle, and Janelle; and nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Though Marian has left this earthly home, her kind and giving spirit lives on in every warm memory of her infectious smile, and every act of love passed on to those she loved and cherished. Her legacy is one of grace, passion, and the beautiful art of making others feel special—whether in her salon chair or at her dinner table. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
