Marilyn Alice Yost

Marilyn Alice Yost went to be with her lord on October 20, 2018, at the age of 95. Marilyn prepared her entire life for this moment of meeting her maker and there is no doubt she is walking with Jesus. Marilyn's genuine love for the Lord and others was evident throughout her entire life.

Marilyn was born on August 12, 1923 to William and Ava Pettit, in Bucyrus, Ohio. Marilyn was a 1940 graduate of Bucyrus High School. She went on to work at a factory where she met her husband of 63 years, Robert Yost. Bob and Marilyn had two children, Marcia Ann and Michael Bridges.

While raising her family, Marilyn worked various jobs which include, working for Isley's Ice Cream Factory, Dairy Queen, Cady's Kindergarten, Wendt Bristol Pharmacy and working as a realtor. Marilyn became a member of North Baptist Church in 1952. She was more than involved at her church and served in countless ministries over the 66 years she was part of this church. Marilyn served as a Sunday school teacher for over 45 years. Marilyn absolutely loved to keep in contact with others by sending letters and cards. She volunteered and gave numerous hours to visiting people in nursing homes. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, including her six great grandchildren and she was proud to be known as "grandma great". Marilyn had dinner every Friday evening with her dear friends G.G. and Kennedy and she was an avid Bridge Club player over the years. Had it not been for her faithful friend and neighbor, Don, she would not have been able to remain in her home for as many years as she had.

Marilyn is survived by her brother, Mo Pettit, PA; son, Michael (Becky) Yost of El Reno, OK; Granddaughters, Julie (Jeff) Taylor of Lexington, OH and Cathy(Paul) Kirsch of Gibsonia, PA; Great grandchildren, Hannah Taylor, Emily Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Katie Kirsch, Nolan Kirsch, Adam Kirsch; nieces, Judy Ann Achey, Debbie Hood, Barbara Lindeman, Patti Luken, Sue Luken, Nancy Schroeder, Cheryl Beaty ; nephews, Tom Yost, Gary Yost, John Luken, Terry Yost.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Lawrence Yost, daughter, Marcia Smith, her parents, sister; Lois Luken and brother Wilbur Pettit.

Visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Newcomer NE Chapel 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11am at North Baptist Church 76 Charleston Ave. Columbus, with Pastor Cyrus Broughton officiating.

Burial will be at Jersey Cemetery.
