Marion L. Deal, Sr.
February 27, 1937 — January 3, 2015
Marion L. "Cotton" Deal, Sr., age 77, of Columbus, formerly of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was born on February 27, 1937, in Columbus, to the late Benjamin and Lulu Deal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Marion L. Deal, Jr.; grandson, Marion L. Deal III; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Marion is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy; his children, Vickie (Frank) Smith, Valeriejean M. (Matthew) Runyan, Scottie Deal, and Timothy Deal; grandchildren, Richard William (Rita) Smith, Kassandra (Brian) Cornelius, Tara Browning Deal, Christy Lea (Jason) Drennen, Marion (Amanda) Runyan, Thomas Runyan, Aaron Runyan, Melissa Deal, Brandi, Deanna, Hannah, Justin, and Tyler; and several great-grandchildren.
Marion had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Friends and family will gather on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
