Listen to Obituary

Marjorie L. Finley, affectionately known as "Marge," was born on April 2, 1932, in Roseville, Ohio. She departed from this world peacefully on February 17, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will be cherished by her family and friends for years to come.

Marge’s educational journey began at Roseville High School, from where she graduated with pride. Her professional pursuits led her to a successful career, notably retiring from Diebold Safe Company and Macy's Department Stores, where she was celebrated as one of Macy's/Lazarus' top 100 star employees. This recognition stands as a testament to her hard work, charm, and exceptional service.

A loving and devoted mother, Marge is survived by her beloved daughter, Janet Ketteler; her sons John (Robin) and Douglas (Deborah) Finley; and her granddaughter Laura Jacoby. The joy of Marge’s life was amplified through her great-granddaughters, Camilla, Aldelaid, and Emerson Jacoby, who brought endless smiles and laughter into her days. Each moment spent with them was a cherished treasure that she held dear.

Marge’s personality could only be described as a symphony of grace, thoughtfulness, and generosity. Friends and family alike were touched by her kind spirit and the warmth she exuded. She possessed a remarkable talent for cooking and an unparalleled green thumb, finding solace and delight in her gardening ventures. Indeed, her home was often a haven filled with the aroma of her excellent culinary creations, inviting all into a space of warmth and hospitality.

Those who have passed before her, including her cherished parents, Raymond and Bonna Williams; her beloved husband, Edward Finley; her son, Dean Finley; and her son-in-law, Thomas Ketteler, hold a significant place in her heart. Marge's love for them transcended the earthly realm, reaffirming her belief in the cyclical nature of life.

The celebration of Marge’s life will take place on February 27, 2026, at Ascension Lutheran Church, located at 1479 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio. Visitors are welcomed from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service commencing at 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. It is an occasion to honor a truly remarkable woman—a lady whose light will continue to shine through the countless lives she touched.

Marge’s legacy will endure within the hearts of all who knew her, a gentle reminder that love and kindness are the most precious gifts we can offer. In her own quiet way, she taught us the art of living graciously and the joy of giving selflessly. As we bid farewell to her physical presence, we celebrate the enduring spirit of Marge Finley, a beloved matriarch who has now peacefully returned to eternity.
