Mark Andrew Newman

Mark A. Newman, age 44, of New Albany, (formerly of Whitehall) went home to be with Jesus on June 11, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mark was a special education student at Upper Arlington High School where he graduated with honors. Mark competed in the Special Olympics, earning numerous awards in swimming and skiing. Mark was a faithful member of Whitehall Church of Christ in Christian Union and attended Franklin Church in New Albany. Mark was also a beloved volunteer at Mount Carmel East hospital.

Mark is preceded in death by grandparents, Harold and Laura Newman, James and Fern Tilley.

He is survived by parents, Larry and Linda Newman; siblings Matthew, Jeremy (Tanya), Joel (April) Newman, and Kathy (Kenneth) McLaughlin; fourteen nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.

Family will receive visitors Monday, June 16, 2014 from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus OH 43231. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. also at Newcomer Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Northlawn Memory Gardens, 7060 State Route 3 Westerville, OH.
