Mark Smock, 55, of Westerville, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital after a long illness.
He was born March 31, 1960. Mark came to live in Huber Ridge, Blendon Township in December of 1961.
He was member of St. Paul Catholic Church and attended school there until the 3rd grade.
Mark then attended Huber Ridge Elementary, Hanby and Walnut Springs and in 1978 was part of the first graduating class of Westerville North High School.
He went on to Owens Community College and became an electrician working with the I.B.E.W. Local 683.
Mark served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged on July 31st 1992.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela.
Mark is survived by his son, Mark; daughter-in-law, Katie; granddaughter, Leila; loving mother, Almina Smock-Wiebell; stepfather, Tom Wiebell; father, Arthur Smock of Illinois; brothers, Paul, Ray (Debbie), Michael (Carla) and Peter (Kelly); sister, Elisa (David); stepbrothers, Tom (Tiffany) and Bill (Jill); stepsisters, Kay (Karl) and Annie (Dale); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State St. Westerville, OH, with visitation will be one hour prior to services.
As part of the founding family of St. Paul Pantry, now known as W.A.R.M., the family request in lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Mark's memory to the Westerville Area Resource Ministry at 150 Heatherdown Dr. Westerville, OH 43081.
