Marlys Jean Shonk

Marlys Jean Shonk, age 95, of Powell, Ohio, passed away on July 27, 2024. Marlys was born on November 12, 1928 in Canton, Ohio, to Pearl and James Davidson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and spending time with her family. As a preacher's wife, she touched many lives by serving in her church. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Pearl Davidson–Feil and James Davidson; husband Rev.Clyde Joseph Shonk; siblings Milton Davidson, Robert Davidson and Barbara Wells. Marlys is lovingly survived by her son Clyde Joseph III (Mary Jo) Shonk, daughter Cynthia (Mark) Maynard; grandchildren Clyde Joseph Shonk IV, Audra D'Eliso, Kimberly (David) Edwards; great grandchildren Jordan Edwards, Danielle (Josiah) Carpenter, Tyler Edwards, Hunter (Destiny) D'Eliso and Clyde Joseph Shonk V. 

A family graveside will be determined at a later date. Marlys will be laid to rest along side her late husband, Rev. Clyde Joseph Shonk, in Mesa, Arizona.
