Martha E. Grove

July 17, 1936- September 25, 2026

Martha Ellen Grove, age 90, complete her earthly journey and entered her eternal heavenly home about 8:10am September 25, 2026 at Story Point Senior Living Facility in Grove City, Ohio.

She was born July 17, 1936 near Paoli, Indiana. She was the twelfth child of James Arthur McIntosh and the first child of Vivian A. (Lewis) McIntosh. In 1954, she graduated from Paoli Community High School, Indiana and continued her education at Cincinnati Bible Seminary. In 1959, she graduated with her Bachelor of Sacred Literature degree.

On August 16, 1959, she we her college sweetheart, Arthur L. Grove, in southern Indiana at the Syria Christian Church. They were married for 52 years. Their life of Christian ministry led them to many places in Indiana, Arkansas, Virginia and Michigan. Arthur spent over 30 years as the senior minister at local churches. Martha served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, Vacation Bible School director, as well as many other service roles.

In Indiana, she was an active member of the Christian Church of Milford. Upon moving to Ohio, she became a member of Buckeye Christian Church.

Family genealogy was another activity that she and her family shared. She collected Avon jewelry, decanters, etc. and sold Avon for many years to afford her beloved hobby. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, reading and gardening. Among her favorite flowers were roses, peonies and Christmas cactus.

She loved attending the North American Christian Convention every year that she was able. More recently, she has attended the Christian Restoration Association Bible Conferences and the Southern Indiana Family Rally.

She was a faithful Red Cross blood donor and has donation many gallons throughout her life.

She is survived by two sons, James A. (Cindy) Grove of Humphrey, AR, and David M. (Vicki) Grove of Littleton, Colorado; one daughter, Deborah S. Grove of Columbus, Ohio and step-daughter, Jocelyn Hodovance of Blythewood, SC.; several nephews, nieces and their families.

Preceding her in death were her parents, James A. and Vivian A. McIntosh, 6 brothers, Harold C. McIntosh, Charles A. McIntosh, Roger C. McIntosh, Nelson W. McIntosh, John A. McIntosh, Wendell E. McIntosh, and 5 sisters, Aileen Hagameyer, R. Frances Kinard, Margery L. Boarde, Elouise McIntosh and Lorraine K. George,.

A celebration of life will be held on a later date. Burial will take place at Bremen Cemetery, Indiana.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial be given to the George Mark Elliott Library and Museum in Florence, KY, the Christian Restoration Association, OH, Christian Church of Milford, IN, or Buckeye Christian Church, Grove City, OH.
