Martha B. Preston

Martha B. Preston, 84, passed away May 5, 2026.

Martha was preceded in death by father, Joseph Brown Bruskie; mother, Elizabeth Bruskie; twin brother, Sandy Bruskie; brother, John Bruskie; and husband, John Preston.

She is survived by sister, Pam (Guy) Wyche; daughter, Fran (Steve) Siegwardt; son, Parks (Katie) Preston; son, Henry J. (Claudia) Preston, III; daughter, Ashley E. Preston; grandchildren, Jordan (Sarah), Brandon (Hannah), Justin (Caroline), Gray (Tori), Mitchell, Paige (Ryan), Libby, and Laura; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Emmie, Nora, and Grant; numerous nieces and nephews, including Kim (Scott) Booker.

Martha was a true Christian, known for her charity work in the Prison Systems among many others.  She taught inmates how to read and taught a variety of art and crafting classes.  She also loved to work in daycares and churches, taking care of babies.  Martha would help anyone at any time, for any reason.

She adored hedgehogs and magnolias, and loved to read in her spare time.  

A private graveside memorial will be held at a later date in Gainesville, GA where she and John will be laid to rest.
